The Cargo map is the introductory level in SCP Tower Defense, designed to help new players grasp the game's mechanics. Set in a dimly lit, industrial cargo facility, the map features a simple, linear path for enemies, making it the easiest map to defend. With plenty of open spaces for tower placement and no complex obstacles, players can experiment with different strategies and tower combinations as they prepare for more challenging maps.Â
The light mechanic on the Cargo map introduces a strategic layer to gameplay, especially on maps with the ZK difficulty setting. Here's how it works:
Illuminating Enemies: Lamps placed throughout the map illuminate enemies, allowing towers without night vision to target and attack enemies in the lamp's light radius.
Chance of Failure: Starting from wave 6, there is a 33% chance per wave that a lamp will go out, plunging part of the map into darkness and making enemies harder to target for towers lacking night vision.
Repairs by Foundation Personnel: Towers following the C Path (Technician) in the Foundation Personnel category can repair broken lamps, restoring light to critical areas and ensuring visibility for your defenses.
This mechanic encourages players to adapt their strategy, balancing light-dependent towers with night-vision-equipped ones or ensuring technicians are placed strategically to maintain visibility. To fix the light you have to click on the lamp.
